About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Olivia Renner and I am currently a student at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. I am majoring in Communications with a track in public relations and a minor in event planning.
Every girl has once dreamed of her perfect birthday to the perfect fairytale wedding, from the time I was able to understand this I knew that I wanted to be the one to enable all the fun and excitement of these events to be possible in someone’s life. I have always wanted to pursue a career in Public Relations and event planning.

I am currently balancing classes and am a Rider cheerleader and have been a cheerleader and on gymnastic teams my whole life. I have found that being a part of a team has helped me build the qualities of leadership and teamwork to complete the task at hand and are qualities that can help me succeed in the work force.

I have recently decided that I am going to look for an internship that is offered through the school to gain more experience and allow for me to have more opportunities in my future. My major and minor are not easy to succeed in and have a lot to do with networking. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make big steps towards a successful future.

  1. Olivia Renner,
I really like your ePortfolio. You did a great job explaining your projects and presenting your portfolio. I like the layout of your portfolio it gives a very professional and organized look. I think that you had many great points in your ePortfolio. I think it is really important that you added that you are a Rider Cheerleader it shows your dedication, leadership skills, team skills, and time management skills. In your biography it was really cute how you outlined the fairytale wedding. At the end it also showed that you are really dedicated by saying “I will do whatever it takes to succeed.” You vocal expression is great; you showed tons of improvement from the first recording to this one. I think the recording shows that you are passionate about what you do and shows a great personality. The only thing about your biography that I would change is internship is one word not two. In your blog I loved your PSA. I really thought it was important that you linked to the MADD organization to show that it was something that you were very dedicated in. Overall, your portfolio does a great job showing your personality. The quote gives it a more personal aspect. The sentence “only time will tell,” is great for branding. One last thing I would change is that I would put pictures up of you cheerleading; it shows a more personal side of you. I would also like to hear the Miley Cirus’ actually recording. It will show the improvement you made to it. Great job!

  2. Olivia,
You did a fantastic job on both your presentation and your ePortfolio. Your presentation was very professional and well thought out. You knew what you wanted to talk about and explained it all very well. I like how your bio includes what you are doing now, what you want to do in the future, and why you want to pursue that career. The cheerleading aspect is great proof of your ability to work with a team effectively which can translate to the workplace. I'm very glad that you added the pictures, they add a personal touch that showed what a big part of your life it has been. Putting the rest of your recorded assignment onto your blog was a great idea. Each one shows one of your positive traits and when shown all together, they show your improvement over the duration of this class. Your bio recording sounds great, your voice is enjoyable to listen to, clear, articulate, and really makes a statement about you. My only suggestion is to include some other assignments that pertain more to the career you'd like to pursue. If you have any plans or pictures of events you helped plan, it could show what your style of planning is. Overall, I think you did an amazing job marketing yourself in this assignment and it will definitely help you in the future.
